What is Samsung Pay?
Instead of using your physical Stash stock-back card (your debit card), Samsung Pay lets you pay at most businesses where cards are accepted along with in-app purchases in participating apps. Samsung Pay uses Near Field Communication (NFC) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) to make contactless mobile payments. This allows for transactions virtually anywhere you can swipe or tap your card. Instead of using your actual card number, Samsung Pay creates a secure device account number that is passed to merchants for payment.
What devices use Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay works on eligible Samsung devices and Gear watches. For further details about devices, please visit the Samsung Pay site.
Is Samsung Pay safe?
Samsung Pay does not store or share your payment information. For each new transaction, a secure device account number is passed to merchants for payment. Only fingerprints stored on your phone, pin number, or iris scan can authorize a payment.
If you store multiple fingerprints on your device including those of additional persons, those persons will also be able to access your Samsung Pay via fingerprint when fingerprint authentication is enabled. You should only enable fingerprint authentication if you’re the only person who has registered fingerprints on your device.
