How long does a withdrawal take from a Smart portfolio?

When you request a withdrawal from your Smart portfolio, we’ll take over. First, we sell off the required amount of holdings to match your withdrawal request. Investment sales are required to satisfy your withdrawal request and may take up to two business days to complete and settle. It may take up to three additional business days for the funds to appear in your bank account. We’ll also need to wait for all of your account activity to process and settle. For example, if you have a pending transfer into Stash, including Auto-Stash, we’ll have to wait for that to be completed.

New deposits made in your account while your withdrawal request is processing may cause both your withdrawal request and your deposit(s) to take longer to process. Actual transfer amount might vary slightly depending on market fluctuations.

If the withdrawal request is rejected, we will hold the withdrawn amount of cash in the Stash Account for 5 business days. You may retry the withdrawal request within this time period. If the withdrawal is unsuccessful, funds will be reinvested into the Stash Account.

When all is ready, we’ll send the money to the account you requested. You can choose to withdraw your money into your Stash bank account or your external bank account, whichever you prefer.

If you have any questions about the withdrawal process, feel free to reach out to Support. That’s what we’re here for!
