Troubleshooting Bank Linking Issues
What if I’m having issues linking my bank account?
If you are having issues linking your bank, try troubleshooting with these tips:
- Try linking through a different method.
- Try linking your external bank through both instant and manual linking options, following these steps for additional guidance. Depending on your bank’s connection, you might have more success with one method than the other.
- Try linking a different account.
- Some accounts might not be eligible for use on Stash. When linking an external bank account, it must be a personal checking or savings account in your name. At this time, Stash does not support third-party or business accounts (even if your name is listed as an authorized user on the account).
- Try linking to a different banking institution.
- If you are having trouble linking through both instant and manual linking methods, try testing with a different bank or financial institution.
What if I didn’t receive my micro-deposits?
If you linked your bank manually (using account and routing numbers) and didn’t receive the $0.01 micro-deposit transaction in your external bank account after 1 to 2 business days, there may have been a typo somewhere.
The best thing is to try linking your bank again and confirm that your account and routing numbers match exactly what you see on your external bank’s end (or on a physical check associated with your account). If you continue to experience issues with the manual bank linking method, check with your bank to see if they require a different format for your account number.
