How do I purchase a stock or ETF?
With Stash, it’s easy to invest in new stocks or ETFs, or to purchase more fractional shares of investments you already own. You can make one-off purchases or choose to invest on a recurring basis. All of these can be done from the app or on web. Let’s get started!
If you’d like to buy a new investment, here’s what you’ll want to do.
- Tap Invest and search for investments.
- Select the investment you’d like to purchase.
- Tap Buy.
- Enter how much you’d like to invest.
- Select your funding source. You can choose to fund your purchase using your Portfolio Cash, your Stash Banking Account¹, or your linked external bank account.
- Choose whether you’d like to make a one-time purchase or invest on a recurring basis.
- You’re all set! Once your purchase has been completed, you’ll see a confirmation.
If you’d like to buy more shares of an investment you already own, we’ve got you covered.
- Tap Invest to go to your portfolio.
- Select the investment you’d like to buy more of.
- Tap Buy.
- Enter the amount of money you’d like to invest.
- Select your funding source. You can choose to fund your purchase using your Portfolio Cash, your Stash Banking Account¹, or your linked external bank account.
- Choose whether you’d like to make a one-time purchase or invest on a recurring basis.
- You’re all set! Once your purchase has been completed, you’ll see a confirmation.
