Linking your External Bank Account with Micro-deposits
Looking for an easy way to transfer money on and off of Stash? Link your external bank account to your Stash account! There are two ways to link your external bank account to Stash:
- Login to your external bank account from the Stash website [learn more here]
- Request micro-deposits into your external bank account [keep reading below for more info]
Micro-deposits are two small amounts (usually less than $0.50) that Stash deposits into your external bank account. This allows you to link your external bank account to Stash using your external bank’s account and routing numbers. (We’ll remove the same amount from your account at the same time so your balance doesn’t change.)
Note: It can take up to three business days to receive the micro-deposits.

Note: Your Stash account must be completed in order for you to receive micro-deposits.
Keep in mind that micro-deposits expire after 10 business days. If it has been longer than 10 business days, please request your micro-deposits again.
What if I didn’t receive my micro-deposits?
If you didn’t receive your micro-deposits into your external bank account after three business days, check to see if there is a typo in the information you entered. If there is, re-enter your information. If not, check with your bank to see if they require a different format for your account number.
