Transferring Money into your Stash Banking Account from Your External Bank
There are three ways to transfer to your Stash Banking account1:
Please note: Bank transfers from your external bank are completed through ACH (Automated Clearing House), which can only occur on business days, excluding federal holidays and weekends.
In the app
- Login to the Stash app.
- Tap Transfer at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Add Cash.
- Enter the amount you want to transfer.
- Select your From account.
- Select Stash Banking Account as your To account.
- Click Transfer.
On the web
- Login to Stash from a web browser.
- Click Transfer at the top of the screen.
- Select your From account.
- Select Stash Banking Account as your To account.
- Enter the amount you want to transfer and click Confirm.
- Review the transfer details and click Make Transfer.
ACH transfer through your external bank
Transfers through an external bank, called ACH transfers, can take 2-4 business days, and require that you verify your external bank account.
To verify your external bank account, you will need to either connect your account through Plaid by entering your login credentials or confirm that you received two small test deposits (into your external bank account) of a few cents each to make sure the two banks are linked properly.
To set up an ACH transfer:
- Get your Stash banking account and routing numbers.
- Visit your external bank to set up a transfer to your Stash debit account.
Please note: Bank transfers can take 2-4 business days to arrive in your Stash banking account. If it doesn’t appear within that time frame, please contact your external bank.
