I already have a 401k, how is this different?  

StashWorks is a comprehensive financial wellness solution that includes access to a spectrum of savings solutions, including investment portfolios and banking products1, financial guidance as well as retirement accounts such as IRAs. Stash does not compete with or replace a traditional 401k program. 

Is my money safe with StashWorks? 

At Stash, we are here to empower customers to invest their money and grow their wealth. Step one in that process is ensuring that your money is safe and secure. As such, there is nothing we take more seriously. Your protection is our priority. From your investments to your cash, you can feel confident in the security of your money on Stash. Stash is a registered investment advisor with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). While such registration does not imply a certain level of skill, it does require us to follow federal regulations that protect you, the investor. What do I have to do to sign up for StashWorks?

If you work for an employer who has partnered with Stash to provide StashWorks benefits, simply check your email for a note from Stash and click the link, which can also be accessed here. Once you click through the link, you will be able to sign up in minutes.

I can’t find my invite email, how do I sign up?

If you can’t track down your invitation email for StashWorks, but are an employee of a company that is offering StashWorks benefit, you can initiate signup by clicking here. Enter the email your employer has on file for you and use it to grant access to sign up for Stash. If you have any questions about which email address to use, please contact your HR representative.

How much do I have to pay for StashWorks?

As an eligible employee you get access to StashWorks without paying any subscription fee while you are employed at your company. You will be responsible for any ancillary fees owed that are not included in the monthly Stash fee, as applicable and as outlined in the Advisory Agreement.The email will contain a link that will help you enroll in StashWorks in minutes!

What is included in my account? 

As an employee of a company that offers StashWorks as a benefit, you are automatically enrolled in Stash Growth, which includes advice for beginning investing and personal finances, access to a personal portfolio, smart portfolio, and retirement portfolios, and banking.

Further, as a StashWorks customer, you will earn $25 when you open your Stash account and make your first deposit. You can review those terms here.

If I want to upgrade my account, how do I do that?

In addition to the Stash Growth plan that all StashWorks employees are enrolled in, we also have an additional plan called Stash+, which includes everything in the Stash Growth plan as well as market insights, kids’ accounts, and extra stock back rewards when you use your Stash Stock-Back® Card.1. If you would like to upgrade your account from Stash Growth to Stash+, click here to navigate to the Subscription plan page. Once there, tap Change next to Your plan and follow the prompts to change your plan. If you decide to upgrade, your StashWorks monthly benefit of $3 will be applied to your Stash+ account. 

What is the cost difference if I want to upgrade my account?

As an employee of a StashWorks partner, you are automatically signed up for Stash Growth, which is valued at $3/month. But you can absolutely upgrade to Stash+, which is valued at $9/month, and pay the difference of $6/month. To see a breakdown of the different plans Stash has to offer, click here.

If you would like to upgrade your account from Stash Growth to Stash+, click here to navigate to the Subscription plan page. Once there, tap Change next to Your plan and follow the prompts to change your plan. If you decide to upgrade, your StashWorks monthly benefit of $3 will be applied to your Stash+ account. 

What happens if I’m no longer employed by my current employer?

Your Stash Growth benefits will be maintained for 90 days after your employment with a StashWorks partner ends. During that period you continue to be a Stash customer, and maintain full access to your account, as well as all of Stash’s features. After 90 days, to maintain your Stash account, you will link an account to pay for your Stash subscription.

What happens if I’m already a Stash customer?

If you were a Stash customer prior to your employer’s partnership with Stash you can still take advantage of the benefit! During the initial logging in, there’s an option to use an already-existing login for Stash. Once you log in through the StashWorks link, a $3 credit will be applied to your account so long as you are employed at a StashWorks partner. Note that in order to take advantage of this, the email on your Stash account must be the same as the email your employer submitted when partnering with Stash Works. 

How and when will I receive rewards?

As someone enrolled via StashWorks benefits, you are eligible to receive $25 for your first direct deposit and $5 for recurring deposits for up to six months. You can review more terms here.

As a Stash customer, you will also be able to earn up to 3% back in stock every time you spend with the Stock-Back® Card.1 See more info here

All promotional bonus rewards are available once you’ve reached the promotional criteria. The funds are then held in your Invest account for 90 calendar days. You can use that cash to invest until then, but you won’t be able to withdraw the bonus funds before the 90 day period is up.

Please be aware: As stated in our terms of service, all promotional funds must be held on your Stash account for 90 days. If your account is closed before the 90 day requirement is reached the funds will be reclaimed.

Where can I check/see my paycheck contributions to date?

You can review your paycheck contributions by checking out the StashWorks’ dashboard here. Also, your contributions will be deposited directly into your Stash banking account.1 All transactions will be listed on the Bank tab in the app.

How can I keep track of my financial growth with StashWorks? 

You can always review your financial growth by checking out the StashWorks’ dashboard here. More details about the performance of your portfolios and bank transactions can also be found on Stash.com. 

Do I need to download the app to open and manage a StashWorks account?

No, you don’t need the app to open and manage a StashWorks account; you can access everything on your desktop at Stash.com. 

How do I set up a paycheck contribution or update contribution settings?

What if I am already splitting my direct deposit?

If you are already splitting your direct deposit, you will still be able to add a portion of your direct deposit on Stash. 

How can I invite friends and family to also join Stash?

You can refer someone to Stash through our referral bonus program and earn up to $1,000 in referrals!* Friends and family can sign up for a Stash subscription by visiting stash.com or by downloading Stash in the app store. Please note, only employees covered by their employer are eligible for StashWorks (including the rewards and saving streaks offer).

Follow these steps to send a referral to your friends in the app:

  1. Login to the Stash app. 
  2. Tap your initials (iOS) or hamburger icon (Android) in the upper-left corner.
  3. Scroll down to the Share your Links section, then tap Refer friends to earn cash. 
  4. Share your custom code or link with your friends.

Do I have to link a payment method?

You do not have to have a payment method linked to use Stash, but if you want to add funds to your account outside of directly depositing from your paycheck, you will want to link an account to fund your portfolio or bank account.

Do I go to my HR rep or Stash customer service if I have a question?

Can I sign up for StashWorks if I am outside the US?

No, Stash is currently only offered to US customers. 

How do I close my StashWorks account?

If you would like to close your Stash account while you are still employed with your employer providing StashWorks benefits, you can initiate the close process. To do so, read more here. 

If you are leaving your job, your Stash Growth benefits will be maintained for 90 days after your employment with a StashWorks partner ends. During that period you continue as a Stash customer, and maintain full access to your account, as well as all of Stash’s features. After 90 days, to maintain your Stash account, you will need to begin paying for it.

** Please review the Referral T&Cs. To participate and receive cash bonuses or stock rewards, you must: (i) successfully open a Personal Portfolio (ii) send a referral invitation to a friend and (iii) your friend must complete the account opening process. Your referred friend must (i) complete the process of opening an account by using the invitation referral link (ii) linking a funding account and (iii) depositing at least one cent ($0.01) into their account.
